Make Blue Monday ➡ Inspirational Monday

Good Morning Lovelies

This post is way overdue... Firstly, let me apologize for being missing in 'blog-action'. I have been a bit preoccupied with life. Lets just say I am cleaning out my closet. ;)

Don't you ever find that Monday's can be sooooo blue? On Sunday evenings I usually spend my time preparing myself mentally for the week, yet I can't shake this feeling ...(got this pic from 9 gag lol)

 

So with that being said... I think it would be rather inspirational for us to inspire each other with some 'Monday inspirational' quotes. The quote that inspires me today -

Dedication Tuesday!

Today I am dedicating my Tuesday to one of the greatest philosophers that ever lived.... Socrates! This man was a genius. 

He was a man with a mind ahead of his time. He sought for something secure and true in midst of relativism. He was a man born in Athens Before Christ (BC) and died Before Christ (BC). 

According to historical sources - he was a man who enjoyed meeting people, asking tough questions, going against the teachings of his time and felt he had a mission to be there for others and teach them that looking after your soul is just as important as your body. He believed that people know what is right, if you know what is right you will do it. He wasn't just a realist but also a person with a conscious who believed in a higher power.

He never wrote anything. One of his greatest philosophies was that it is not what you say but how you say it. (so true) The people of his time found him very unpopular and did not like his ideals. He was sentenced to not worshipping the Gods of their time but one God and would not give up his mission. He happily accepted his fate and drank their poison.

I often wonder what it would be like if Socrates was man of our time? Would we think he is mad?

So I am dedicating today's throwback to a music group I admire soooooooo much! I wish they would reunite and make music again. I am sure those of us born in the 80's and the 90's remember this band really well!

'Back streets back alright!' Yes! I am talking about the Backstreet Boys! Love them so much. Who could forget the song 'Quit playing games with my heart' and 'Everybody'?
I am listening to it now lol. I know quite a number of ladies and surprisingly some men who appreciate this legendary boy band.

My favorite Backstreet Boy has got to be Nick *blush*. I had a huuuuuge crush on Nick.

Morning Lovelies. A unisex trend that is dear to my heart is the.... Blazer! What a fashionable item! Blazers feel more like an accessory than a clothing item. It's like a piece of jewellery that adds that razzle dazzle to your outfit. It comes in various, colors and styles. It can be worn casually or formally. Really love it!

Good Morning Lovelies.
My apologies for not blogging in a while. I do need to conduct my interview with the 2 brothers. Unfortunately, this past weekend has been a bit crazy. I do however promise to conduct the interview ASAP. I will keep you guys posted.
On Saturday I went to a sassy 1950's glam ladies night event at Bang Bar called Mademoiselle. It was quite lovely and I enjoyed every second with the ladies. So glad there were no ladies dissing each other. It was one of those nights where we put all our bitchiness aside and embraced our femininity. (This is how it should always be)
Ladies lets stop the hating on each other and love each other. We are wasting too much energy on being catty and fake. Lets support each other, help to build up each other and be there for one another.

Throwback Thursdays Episode 1

Good Morning Lovelies! So I've decided to dedicate Thursdays to throwbacks otherwise known as blasts from the past.
I'm dedicating today's throwback to a technological cellular legend *drum roll please*- The Nokia 3310!

I remember my early years in high school when this cellphone was super popular. Everyone wanted this phone. It was one of the most good looking golden oldies. It could be used as a paper weight lol. I also remember the crazy monotones! This phone was so durable (they really don't make phones like they used to durability wise).
This phone also inherited the nickname - blokia.

The JB style

Good Morning Lovelies! Guess what? The beebs is in town so I am dedicating this post to none other than Justin Bieber! <3 this guy!

His style has changed from 'preppy i was like Baby Baby Baby oh tween' to a more 'older teen/ young adult hip-hop meets pop style' lol (I seriously couldn't come up with any other description for his current look).

Not to mention - He has ditched the long hair for an up-do. He also seems to have built some muscle and is rocking a couple of tats and earrings. I'm loving the beebs' new look. what do you guys think? I have attached some pics showing his look evolution. ;)

Winter trend (always and forever)

Morning Lovelies. I am on my way to work (no I'm not driving and blogging. I am traveling via public transport this morning - DON'T TEXT/BLOG and drive) As I mentioned in a previous post, the winter chills are here and I realized that there is one trend that is not going to go out of fashion for Winter (can you guess which fashionable item I am referring to?)
You guessed it.... The infamous scarf! (Like this post if you love scarves)
I'm really loving the light weight cotton scarves although they do not provide much heat for za neck. I'm also a huge fan of the infinity/ circular scarves. What's nice about these is that it is unisex and looks just as good on men as women.

What trends do you think won't fade this winter?

I love my new iPhone 5

So I decided to ditch my BlackBerry for an iPhone :)...well more specifically the iPhone 5. I must say this phone is pretty awesome compared to the poor performance of my previous forever BlueBerry. I do however miss BIS (sob). I have noticed that data is pretty expensive in RSA now that I am no longer a BlackBerry user. What are your thoughts on this?

Enough about me and my obsession with BIS and data...lets talk about the other High's and Low's about the iPhone 5 and what attracted me to it.

High's:

This phone is so sexy! It is definitely a looker. The sleek aluminum finish is so eye catching this phone will turn heads. The large screen display is also great.

Not only is this phone a looker but it is equipped with an 8mp camera, retina display (which is sooooooooooo clear and colorful) it is so lifelike the Samsung Galaxy s3 can go sleep.

The CPU performance is great! My friend and I actually stress tested this phone against the Samsung - aaaaah it came out tops of course. The graphics load incredibly fast in comparison.

Low's:

Apple why do we have to pay for almost everything on the App Store- even whatsapp! (Only in RSA I believe)

The fact that one has to download iTunes to get music on this phone is so sad :( boo

Other than that - this phone is definitely great! Love the performance, love the capabilities, love the look. This phone is a fashion statement.

I bought a couple of covers for this phone which I will share with you soon.

What's hot right now....Winter is coming

Hello My Lovelies

As this is my first post - I would like to welcome you and thank you for coming to visit.

Winter is ALMOST here, it is already dark and super chilly in the mornings. I am busy packing out all my winter gear and gearing up for the chills... Burr (and I am not referring to that annoying Bur song from Gucci Mane - the name of that song should be changed to urrr?? Lol)
As I am packing out all these goodies, I am definitely starting to think I need a new Winter wardrobe and I'm talking about new booties and snuggly yet sexy jerseys, jeans, long sleeve shirts, skirts, tights and leggings. In an attempt to begin winter gear shopping I managed to get my hands on this warm dark grey jersey which I wore to MuggnBean the other night...let me know what you think?
I will definitely upload a couple more pics once my winter 2013 wardrobe is complete.
